At Confidence Lab, we believe that confidence isn’t given — it’s built, shared, and owned. Founded by Raelene Clarke, a mother of four daughters, former Miss Teen South Africa, and passionate advocate for girls’ empowerment, Confidence Lab was born out of both research and personal experience.

My Story

I was deeply moved when I learned that girls’ confidence drops by nearly 30% between ages 8 and 14 — and even more by the ripple effects: girls silencing themselves, stepping back from sports and leadership, doubting their voices, and shrinking in spaces where they should shine. As a mother of four daughters, I couldn’t sit back knowing they — and countless others — might lose belief in themselves just as the world should be opening up to them.

That’s why I created Confidence Lab: a girl-powered space where challenges like comparison, appearance insecurity, emotions, and perfectionism are unpacked and transformed into solutions designed by girls, for girls.

Our mission is simple but powerful: help every girl discover her voice, celebrate her strengths, and build lasting confidence. Girls aren’t passive participants — they are creators, innovators, and leaders. Each session ends with tools they designed together, contributing to our growing 100 Girl-Made Confidence Solutions Toolkit — a movement of sisterhood, agency, and bravery.

Confidence Lab is more than a workshop. It’s a community where girls learn that their ideas matter, their voices carry power, and their confidence can change the world.
