Adolescence is an emotional rollercoaster. Without the right tools, girls may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or shut down. Building emotional literacy — naming and understanding feelings — helps them regulate emotions with confidence.

Use the emotions wheel to help your child describe feelings more precisely.
Normalize emotions by sharing your own (e.g., “I felt frustrated today, and here’s how I calmed down.”).
Encourage healthy outlets like journaling, art, or movement.
